Handling Guidelines

Follow proper laboratory standards when handling research peptides.

  • Wash hands before handling.
  • Work on a clean, disinfected surface.
  • Wipe vial tops with alcohol before and after use.
  • Use a new sterile syringe for each access.
  • Never reuse needles or diluent.
  • If contamination is suspected or storage conditions were compromised, discard the vial.

Storage After Reconstitution

Reconstituted peptides are more sensitive to environmental conditions.

  • Store at 2–8°C at all times.
  • Do not freeze after reconstitution.
  • Protect from light exposure.
  • Open vials only when necessary.
  • Use within 30 days for best stability.
  • Discard if solution becomes cloudy, discolored, or contains particles.

Reconstitution

Reconstitution should be performed carefully to maintain sterility and structural integrity.

  • Use sterile Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water).
  • Slowly inject diluent down the inside wall of the vial.
  • Do not inject directly onto the peptide powder.
  • Do not shake vigorously.
  • Gently roll or lightly swirl only if necessary.
  • Use sterile syringes and alcohol pads during handling.
  • Discard opened BAC water after 14–21 days.

Storage Before Reconstitution

  • Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides are most stable in powder form.
  • Store in a cool, dark, dry location away from heat and moisture.
  • Refrigerate at 2–8°C for extended stability.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations.
  • For long-term storage (several months), store at –20°C in a freezer.
  • Keep vials sealed until ready for laboratory use.
